Mrs. Tangela Arteli Randolph Russell was born August 21, 1979 in Russellville, Alabama to the late Joyce Ann Randolph Wiggins and Henry Lee Hamilton. She departed this life on March 28, 2013 at Athens Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
As a young lady, Tangela attended Pentecostal House of Prayer under the late Bishop A.C. Strong. She later confessed Christ as her savior and joined New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Tanner under the leadership of the Reverend Larry Lockett. On April 18, 2012 she united with Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church where Dr. Ernestine Mason is pastor. She was a faithful member until her death.
Tangela was a 1999 graduate of Decatur High School. Due to health problems, she was disabled.
Tangela leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Gaven Russell of Athens; two sisters, Franchesca Randolph of Decatur and Katrina (Quinlan) Parker of Athens; one brother, Johnathan Rose of Russellville; grandmother, Jessie Pearl Thompson; mother and father in-law, Earl and Sharon Wilson all of Athens; grandmother in law, Betty (David) Edward of Huntsville; great grandmother, Effie Russell of Athens, AL; two uncles, Tim and John Hamilton of Russellville; two aunts, Dorothy Oates of Russellville and Mildred (Charles) Malone of Athens; one special aunt, Mary K. Abernathy of Russellville; three nieces, Desha Patrick, LaHarria Malone both of Decatur and Travionna Whitman of Athens; three nephews, Anthony Harris of Decatur, Laderrick Thompson of Athens and Ja’mere Rose of Russellville; special friends, Barbara Carter, Dyanne Smiley, Tina Mason Mitchell, Felicia Sears, Janice Franklin, Mekia Sears and Aquanetta Jones and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
