Tammy Wilson Calvert went home to be with her Savior after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Tammy was a native of Trenton, Michigan, and moved to Birmingham where she graduated from Huffman High School. She continued her education and graduated from the UAB School of Nursing. She worked at Trinity Hospital in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit for 28 years and at St. Vincent’s North Tower, providing compassionate care to countless patients. She was awarded the prestigious Ida V. Moffett Nursing Excellence Award in 2011. Tammy was an active member of Northpark Baptist Church, where she served faithfully throughout her illness. She was a constant fixture at the Clay Chalkville High School ball field where she loved to watch her son and his friends play baseball. Each life she touched, she changed in a special way. She showed us all how to love and she let Christ’s love shine through her. She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Wallace Wilson and her mother, Mary Kathryn Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Calvert; three daughters, Ashley Davis, Meagan Calvert and Lauren Calvert; a son, Matthew Calvert; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Dylon and Alyssa Davis; a brother, Jeff Wilson (Melinda) and numerous family members and friends who loved her dearly.
