Tammy Rae Van Houten of Troy, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Gritman Medical Center. She was 50. Tammy was born May 3, 1966 in Caldwell, ID to Roy L and Colleen Foust Bright. The family moved to Moscow that year where Tammy grew up, attended McDonald Elementary School, Moscow Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating from Moscow High. She and Jon C. Van Houten were married in Lewiston on August 25, 1984. They made their home in Moscow where Tammy worked for the North 4-D Restaurant, the Plantation and the Daily News for a time. In 1991 Tammy started with the Moscow School District as a custodian, later moving to the laundry department and was employed there at the time of her death. Tammy enjoyed sewing, crafts, camping, picking huckleberries, and will be remembered for her excellent cooking abilities.
