Tammy Lea Boyd, age 57, of Hamilton Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.
Born September 16, 1963, in Morehead, Tammy was the daughter of the late Andrew Wesley Boyd and Revena Davis Boyd. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley Eugene Boyd.
Tammy is survived by her special friend of many years, Willard V. Pinkerman of Morehead; two daughters, Christy Adams and Jeff of Morehead and Revena Bloomfield and James of Carter County; two sons, James Wayne Norris of Morehead and Larry “Bill” Messer and Danielle of Morehead; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include three brothers, Michael Shadrach Boyd and Nancy of Richmond, Phillip Wayne Boyd and Tonya of Richmond, and Timothy Andrew Boyd and Beth of Morehead; two sisters, Donna Tackett and Vicki Ingle, both of Morehead, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Tammy enjoyed life to the fullest and loved being with family and friends. She loved doing all kinds of crafts with her grandchildren, driving her Mustang convertible with the top down and singing as loud as she could, traveling to the ocean, and enjoying the challenge of playing cards and casino games. An important part of Tammy’s life was her constant companion, six-year-old “Queeny,” who enjoyed home-cooked meals—never dog food—and was considered a family member.
Tammy’s zest for living and unconditional love will remain forever in the hearts of her family. She will be greatly missed.
