Tamela Jo Upton, “Nubbin” 55, of Shawnee, passed from this life March 12, 2019. She was born April 16, 1963 in Oklahoma City to Liz and LB Harp.
Nubbin grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Classen High school. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, and cooking. She loved to cook for her family and had so many amazing dishes. Her favorite place to go on ANY given day was the casino. She would stay however long you would let her and could make $20 last forever on her favorite penny machines!
Above all, Nubbin loved her family and was crazy about all of her grandbabies. For her, any day spent with those she loved was a great day! No matter how bad she felt, she never failed to make her family laugh with her outgoing personality and hilarious stories. She had a joyful and giving soul that will be truly be missed by all.
She was preceded in passing by her maternal and paternal grandparents; parents, Elizabeth and LB Harp; and husband, Mike Upton Sr.
Those left to continue her legacy include her sons, Michael Upton, Jr. and wife Ashley and Aaron Upton; sisters, Pamela Scull and husband David, and Machelle Harp; grandchildren, Mariah, Eliceo, Caitlyn, Mikey, and Desiramie; nephew, DJ Scull and wife Jessica, who gave so much love and care to Nubbin as her health declined; and Paul Speers, who also provided a great deal of care and compassion to Nubbin. She is also survived by a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
