Symma (Kitty) Moulton went Home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2022, at the age of 97. Miss Kitty was born on June 23, 1925, to Claudine Robinson and Jack Hendricks in the parish of Portland and town of Belvedere on the island of Jamaica. Miss Kitty’s father tragically passed away when she was only 3 years old. Shortly after her father’s passing, her father’s brother Pat Hendricks came to Belvedere to take the young Kitty under the care of himself and his wife Symma Hendricks. Uncle Pat was a firm, but generous man who often took the blame for cookies little Kitty snuck when her aunt was not looking. Under their care, Miss Kitty was able to attend Norton Proprietary School and further her education. Following her schooling, Miss Kitty met and married Horace Moulton in Annotto Bay. Miss Kitty and Horace went on to have two children, Horace Jr. and Carol.
Horace Moulton Sr. worked for the Jamaican government as an overseer for Crown Land and the family often lived on large properties where the children could run, play, and ride horses. Miss Kitty was an avid gardener and never met a plant that she could not nurse back to life.
