Syman N. Hirsch 84 of South Whitehall Township, passed away on January 26,2021. He was the loving husband of Anita Hirsch with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in Plainfield, NJ, Syman was the son of the late Dorothy and Leo Hirsch. He graduated from Moravian College and has a Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University. He taught English and social studies in Hubbard Jr. High School for 10 years and was the Vice Principal of Quakertown High School for 8 years. He was a writer for the Parkland Press for many years.
He was assistant baseball coach in the Jr. high under former Dodger Joe Black and then was the baseball coach for many years. His favorite team was the New York Yankees and he was a member of the LV Yankee Fan Club. He collected jokes and joke books and used the jokes to make people smile.
He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and served in the Army National Guard of New Jersey. He enjoyed the JCC Friendship Circle and was the Program Chair for many years. He was also a Board Member of the Parkland School District Education Foundation.
Survivors: wife Anita, son Michael and daughter Leanne and sister –in-law Maxine Hirsch, nephew Charles Hirsch (Carol) children Sam and Annie and niece Robin Friedman and children: Hannah and Lily. His brother Stuart preceded him in death.
