Sylvia Rose Ryan, 26, cherished daughter of Thomas Ryan of Wallingford and Maureen LaPointe (formerly Ryan) of Wallingford left this life Feb. 2, 2011 to take her place with the angels in Heaven. Sylvia was born in New Haven on Oct. 17, 1984, her maternal grandmother’s birthday. A 2006 graduate of ACES, VillageSchool, North Haven, she was a participant in the Oakhill Day Program in Hamden. She faced many medical challenges and always came out with a smile. Besides her parents, she is survived by her beloved brother, Daniel Ryan; her paternal grandmother, Rose Ryan of North Haven; as well as her loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Sydney and Shirley (Sylvia) LaPointe and her paternal grandfather, George Ryan. Her family would like to thank the staff at ACES and at Oakhill Day Program for all their love and support over the years, and especially to Heidi for her dedication.
