On December 18, 2012, our world lost an amazing woman. Sylvia “Mildred” Stone was born in Downy, ID on January 16, 1919, the daughter of Seth J.B. and Sylvia M. Jensen Stone. She was the second of six children. Growing up during the depression ensured that they weren’t rich in possessions, but they were rich in love and laughter, always playing together, teasing each other and helping each other. The love she had for her family was strong and unconditional.
She moved to Ogden at an early age and attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School. She served a full time LDS Mission to Texas-Louisiana Mission-later changed to the Gulf States Mission, returning to Utah afterwards. Mildred lived in CA for a short while but returned to UT to be with her family. She worked and retired from Defense Depot Ogden.
