Sylvia Marie Shumaker, 82 of Grafton, passed away at the home of her daughter, Betty Patton on Saturday, July 23, 2022. She was born in Knottsville on April 18, 1940, daughter of the late Arley and Myrtle Wilmouth Shumaker. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy William Shumaker.
Marie was a longtime member of the New Testament Fellowship Church. She loved collecting angels and spending time with her family. Marie enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She loved her family and loved the time spent with each of them. She considered her family her greatest
blessing. Marie is survived by two daughters, Bessie Powell, PA, Betty Patton, Grafton, three sons, Roy Shumaker (Jenny), Robert Lee Shumaker, Thomas Jackson Shumaker (Cindy) all of Grafton; nine grandchildren,Ruth, Stacey, Crystal, Wayne, Doug, Tina, Becky, Melissa, Jason,
Heather, Jason, Jimmy and Brandon, several great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters; two sisters, Anna Beavers (Darrell), Dora May Irvine (Clyde) all of Grafton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by three sons, Albert Ray Shumaker, Earl Eugene Shumaker and Paul Joseph Shumaker; son in-law, James Patton, three sisters, Linda Springs, Martha
Shroyer, Katherine Dale; three brothers, Bert Shumaker, Jerry Shumaker,and Warren Shumaker.
