Sylvia Marie Butler 76, of Nanjemoy, MD died December 19, 2015 at the Hospice House of Charles County, in Waldorf, Maryland. She was born in Doncaster, MD on June 12, 1939. She was the wife of Junior Leroy Butler, they were married on June 11, 1960. Sylvia is also survived by her daughter Tanya Washington, (Derek) and Tyrone Butler (Sherry). Her 6 grandchildren Taynisha Butler, DeOntra Thomas, Tiffany Butler, Tiara Butler, Karlee Butler and Dominique Sluss, and one great Grandson Messiah Mitchell and one brother Francis Burns. She is preceded in death by her parents George “Abe” and Beatrice Burns, siblings Mary Clark, Alberta Thomas, Earl Burns, Sr., Stanley Berry, Sr., and Edward Burns.
Sylvia was a graduate of Pomonkey High School. She worked for the school board, was a care giver and cleaned houses. She enjoyed reading, painting, playing solitaire, shopping, cooking and home improvements.
She was most proud of being a child of God. Sylvia was a very happy and caring person.
