Sydney Sue Thacker, 56

Okeechobee – Sydney Sue Thacker entered into eternal life Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born February 18, 1964, in Logan, West Virginia; the daughter of Jennie Sue Craft (Sigmon, Thacker) and the late Sidney Lee Thacker.

After graduating from high school, Sydney earned Cosmetology and Phlebotomy degrees. By the time she relocated to Florida, her new neighbor, Bud, suggested she test at Indian River State College for substitute teaching. She passed and went on to substitute at nearly every school in Okeechobee. She received her Bachelor’s from Florida Gulf Coast University in Young Childhood Development and her Master’s from Grand Canyon University. Sydney’s good friend, Kathy, suggested she further her education and earn her Ph.D. Unfortunately, while looking into this, COVID 19 changed her plans.

Sydney Sue went Home to be with the Lord from Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida. The coronavirus COVID 19 took her life and changed her family’s life forever.

Sydney never failed to tell her parents she loved them and goodnight, followed by a kiss on their heads.

Sydney was preceded in death by her grandparents, Woodrow “Woody” and Jean Sigmon and Siegel and Irene Thacker; aunts, Patty Kinser, Nancy Craft, and Betty Craft, uncles, Tommy Thacker, James Craft, Herbert “Big Shot” Craft, Lonnie Craft, Jimmy Craft, Jack Wallace, and Wad Deskins.
