Mrs. Sybil Terry “Nanny” Holmes, 87, of Valley went home to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.
She leaves her cherished memories…
Mrs. Holmes is survived by her children, Rheba (Phil) Nichols of Knoxville, TN and Jane Holmes Patterson of Valley, and Jimmy “Da-Da” Holmes of Valley; her brother, Danny Terry of Columbus, GA; her sisters, Mary Fetner of Valley and Janice Dallas of West Point, GA; her grandchildren, Lynn (Dawn) Nichols of Knoxville, TN, Mark (Lisa) Patterson of Valley, Ryan (Devon) Nichols of Knoxville, TN, Brooke (Matt) Cunningham of Knoxville, TN, Shanna Holmes of Valley; her great grandchildren, Phillip, Claire, Anna, and Andrew Nichols of Knoxville, TN, Brianna Fuller of Valley, Lane and Ren Fuller of Valley, Masey Patterson of Valley, Camryn, Rhett, and Colt Nichols of Knoxville, TN, and Leighton and Bryant Cunningham of Knoxville, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Holmes, Sr.
Mrs. Holmes was born on September 11, 1929 in Chambers County, AL. She was the daughter of the late William H. Terry and Lillian Glass Terry. She retired from Langdale Mill. She loved her family, putting puzzles together, and sitting on a riverbank fishing.
