Sybil Hamm Cotton passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014. Born in Gant, Alabama, to Lee Royce and Jessie Alene Hamm, she was the oldest of eight children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Wynell and Juanita; and her brothers, Hubert and Eugene. She is survived by her children: Rickey Cotton of Lakeland, Fla., and wife Anna; Steven Cotton of Robertsdale, Ala. and wife, Margaret; and Susan Shearer of Niceville, Fla., and husband Joe; sisters Betty and Thurman; and brother Wayland; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered lovingly for her abiding and sacrificial love, her Christ-like example, her positive attitude and happy smile, her hospitality and her flavorful southern cooking.
