Sven Sternung, age 82, of Gulf Breeze, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 14th. His family was blessed to be by his side at the time of his passing at Gulf Breeze Hospital. Sven was born in Ramdala, Sweden on June 8th, 1932 to Aina and August Svensson. He attended college in Stockholm Sweden. Sven was an outspoken patriot and proud to be a naturalized American citizen. He was known to be a brilliant electrical engineer and held patents in telephony. He traveled the world and loved his work with government contracts. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and always had a project going. Sven was also a proud member of the Optimist club and was recently inducted as an Elk. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Naval Air Museum. He never missed an opportunity to work the gate at Gulf Breeze High School football games. Sven is survived by his loving family; wife of 48 years, Sally Sternung; son Leif Sternung, and his wife Page; daughter Shelley Mann and husband Scott. His grandchildren brought him much joy; Spencer Sternung, Michael Mann, Sally Mann Aldrin and her husband CJ, and a great grand-daughter Bella. Sven was predeceased by three brother and two sisters in Sweden.
