Suzanne Miller passed away November 4, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Berkhoff and her husband, Ken Berkhoff, and her son Clint Miller.

Suzanne was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 26, 1925 to Dr. Henry and Rachel Tornow. They are both now deceased and also her sister, Harriet Eastis and brother Winston Tornow

She grew up in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Denver University. She was active in many affairs and was elected May Day Princess at the DU May Day Festivities.

Suzanne married Charles Miller on August 24, 1947. Chuck was elected President of the Senior class and Suzanne had been elected Secretary.

They moved to Phoenix in 1948 after Chuck received his Master’s degree in Government Management.

Chuck had two interesting jobs, he was Controller of Valley Bank for two times and Maricopa County Manager several times.

Suzanne and Chuck travelled around the world and met many interesting people.

She was active in Assistance League, North Phoenix Republican Women’s and PEO. She had taught Sunday School at First United Methodist Church and also had been an usher. She belonged to the Phoenix County Club, Heard Museum and the Phoenix Zoo.

Suzanne’s motto was “don’t complain, keep smiling and enjoy life.”
