Suzanne Beard, age 73, of Hoschton, GA passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020.

She was preceded in death by father, J M Fox, and mother and step-father, Bill and Joe Spence.

Ms. Beard is survived by son, Brad (Michelle) Beard, Cleveland, OH; daughters, Melanie (Greg) Reed, Buford, GA, Tiffany (Brandon) Ridley, Flowery Branch, GA, Jere (Tsui-Mei) Chang, Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Lauren Beard, Alec Beard, Ella Beard, Ava Beard, Luke Reed, Haley Reed, Jackson Chang, and Fox Chang; and brother, Mark (Carla) Spence.

Ms. Beard was born on October 5, 1946.

She was a 1964 graduate of North Gwinnett High School. While at North Gwinnett, she was crowned Homecoming Queen and Miss North Gwinnett. Ms. Beard received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Brenau University and then later received her Master’s degree while teaching. She began her teaching degree at Lanier Middle School in 1992, and later transitioned to Jones Middle School when it opened, completing her teaching career there. She was chosen Teacher of the Year in 2006.

Ms. Beard was a talented pianist and artist. She loved crocheting, was an avid reader and sports enthusiast, never missing the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks games. She also was a 50’s rock and roll enthusiast. Ms. Beard was an adored teacher who positively impacted hundreds of students during her career, and she was most proud of her children and grandchildren.
