Mother Susie O. Brown was born May 22, 1921 in Hillsboro, AL to the late James Washington Owens and Katie Pearl Pointer Owens.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt Olive P.B. Church. She served as a member of the Mother Board and Sisters Aide Society. She remained a faithful church member until her health began to fail. She transitioned from this life on January 17, 2017.
On October 25, 1982, Mother Brown was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Ed. Kirk Brown. She was blessed to marry a man that honored her promise to stay home and care for her mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, James S. Owens, Major Lee Owens, Cleveland S. Owens, Sandy W. Owens and Hawthorne C. Owens; sisters, Carrie M. Ricks, Patsy Owens, Mary Hill, Cleora O. Bankston and Viola D. Buford.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Louise O. Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Heartfelt thanks to great-niece and caregiver, Kalethia (Ronnie) Goodlow.
