Susan “Sue” Jean (Forray) Brittain, 71, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 3:06 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN.
She was born on January 11, 1950 to the late Alex, Jr. and Evelyn Jean (Vogelsang) Forray in Niles, MI, and has lived in South Bend, IN for most of her life. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kris Supancik-Watson.
Sue graduated in 1968 from Clay High School in South Bend. On August 11, 1978, she married Ronald G. Brittain, Sr. in South Bend, IN. She most recently worked as an Assistant Manager at Charlie’s Convenience Store in South Bend, IN for nine years. Prior to that, Sue worked at Nicola’s Restaurant in South Bend, where she was employed as the head cook for over 15 years during the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Ronald G. Brittain, Sr. of South Bend, IN; one son, Ronnie Brittain, Jr. of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Brandon (Star Barnes) Supancik of Edwardsburg, MI; Lauren (Osvaldo) Miranda of Goshen, IN; two great grandchildren, Aubree and Yanelis; four sisters, Patti Malohn of South Bend, IN; Judy (Ken) Chastain of Berrien Springs, MI; Debbie Nelson of Lafayette, IN; Jackie (Steve Hubler) Wheeler of Plymouth, IN; two brothers, Brian (Bobbi) Forray of Mishawaka, IN; Alex Forray of South Bend, IN; and many nieces & nephews.
Sue was a longtime member of the former First Christian Church of South Bend, IN. She enjoyed reading, cooking, bowling, slot machines, riding motorcycles, spending time with her family, and was a speed demon when driving her car.
