Susan Blanchette, 75, of Orange, beloved wife of 52 years to Andrew Blanchette, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022. Born on December 6, 1946, in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Frances (Clark) Schramm.

Sue, an Orange resident for most of her life, served the town in a number of capacities for over 50 years. She started at the Town Hall at the age of 15, and over the years worked in the Tax Office, the Probate Court, and the Assessor’s Office, and served as the Republican Registrar of Voters as well as a moderator of Absentee Ballots.

Outside of work, Sue was a member of the Women’s Republican Club of Orange and the Holy Infant Women’s Guild. She enjoyed watercolor painting, and was an avid and accomplished bridge player and a director of the Bridge Club at the Orange Senior Center. Sue and her husband spent their winter months in Naples, FL, and she was active at the Senior Center there as well.

In addition to her loving husband, Sue is survived by her children, Andrew (Stephanie Nash) Blanchette, Jr., and Amanda (Noah) Meyer; her grandchildren, Cooper, Emma, Aiden, and Colby; her sister, Judi (Russ) Grindrod; sister-in-law, Jean (David) Rose; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to friends and caregivers for their support and compassion during difficult times.
