Susan Patton McGuire 70, of Indian Head, MD passed away October 27, 2015. Susan was born September 6, 1945 in Charleston, WVA. Susan’s father moved the family to Southern MD when she was 15, she attended Lackey High School and then the family settled in Oxon Hill, MD where Susan graduated in 1964 from Oxon Hill High School.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Edgar M. Patton, Mother, Verlie V. Patton, brother in law, Richard Holcombe and her beloved Grandson, Matthew S. Regalia Jr. She is survived by her husband James E. McGuire of Indian Head, Sisters, Jan Bays (Kenny) of Nanjemoy, MD, Anna Holcombe of Rockledge, Fl, Brother, Paul Patton (Paulette) of Poca, WVA, Son, Matthew Regalia Sr, (Gayle) of Bryans Road, MD, Daughter, Robin Givens of Indian Head, MD, her Grandchildren; Joshua and Christopher Regalia, Samantha and Eric Givens Jr, her Great Grandchildren, London and Demonte Johnson Jr.
Susan retired from Naval Research Laboratory in 2009, after 32 years of service. She married Eddie McGuire in 2008, they resided in Indian Head and attended Potomac Heights Baptist Church.
Susan loved to play bingo with her lifelong friend, Bobbie Pickle. Susan loved going to Maryland Live, Dover Downs and Charlestown races, most of these trips were with her sister Jan, she loved the time they shared together. She loved to go to yard sales and thrift shops, but Susan was happiest when she was with family, she loved her children and grandchildren and dedicated her life to being the best “Maw-Maw” she could be. Maw-Maw was the center of her family and her grandchildren were the center of her world.
Susan will always be remembered for caring for people. She was happiest when she was helping others. She opened her home and heart to her children, grandchildren and their friends, everyone who knew her loved her.
