Susan M. Brown, 69, of Quakertown, died at her home Sat., Dec. 2. She was the loving wife of Robert J. Brown, Sr. for the past 51 years. Born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Frank & Catherine (O’Neill) Kemmerer, she was raised in Hatboro and lived in Quakertown since 1972. Susan graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School. She previously worked at the Richland Country Day School and the Quakertown Community School District. She retired as a Lehigh County government employee following 15 years of employment having worked in the human resources, veterans affairs, and the marriage license departments. She had many hobbies including: reading, going out to lunch with friends, spending time with family, bowling, and was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan, being a season ticket holder since 1994. She was very active in the Quakertown community beginning with the Quakertown Welcome Wagon when she first moved to Quakertown and belonged to several clubs including the Woman’s Club of Quakertown where she held two chairmanships, Quakertown YMCA Program Committee, Richland Township Parks and Recreation Committee, a book club and was the former President of the Quakertown Sertoma Club. Surviving with her husband are her children: Robert J. Brown, Jr. of Quakertown; Michael A. Brown, wife Janine of, Richlandtown; and Cheri A. Plante of Glenside, and four grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, Amber, and Jullian. She is also survived by a brother: John Kemmerer, wife Margie, of Grand Island, Neb.
