Susan Kaye Ayling, 77, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this walk of life on Monday, September 6, 2021, in Salem.

She was born in Davis, Oklahoma on December 2, 1943, daughter of the late Virgil Lee and Peggy (Pitchford) Thomas. Susan was united in marriage to Larry A. Ayling in Paradise, California. She spent 30 years in banking with Bank of America. After retiring from banking, Susan and her husband spent a few years working in a funeral home in Texas. Susan was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them especially her grandchildren. Christmas was Susan’s favorite time of year and she always made it a big deal. She enjoyed traveling and camping.

Susan is survived by her husband, Larry Ayling of Salem, Arkansas; son, Martin Young of Sulfur Springs, Arkansas; daughters, Tedi Riggs of Sacramento, California and Kerri Barbin of Chico, California; mother, Peggy Thomas; brother, Richard Thomas of Biloxi, Mississippi; sisters, Patricia Boudreaux of Rescue, California and Edith Jeanette Thomas of Shingle Springs, California; grandchildren, Brandon Young, Greg Cooper, Amanda Lemonds, Jason Young, Paul Barbin, Matthew and Blain Barbin, Eric Riggs and Troy French and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Lee Thomas; brother, Virgil Clay Thomas and sister, Kathern Thomas.
