Susan Kay (Beatty) Tomazin was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister.
Born September 20, 1947, she left this world suddenly on March 16, 2021 at the age of 73 in her home in Highlands Ranch, CO.
A life-long Coloradan, she was born in Denver, CO to Eugene Beatty and Kathleen Barth. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School class of 1965, and went on to attend The University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned a degree in teaching.
Her life was dedicated to the care and education of young children. She taught elementary school education both before and after raising her 5 children, specializing in Kindergarten and 1st grade. She prided herself in connecting with children during these formative early years at Walnut Creek Elementary and All Souls Catholic School. She continued her work with young children as an aide at a local daycare in her later years.
For much of her adult life she was heavily involved with Youth Group activities at multiple Catholic parishes throughout the greater Denver Metro area.
While her own children were growing up it went without saying that their friends and all of the neighborhood kids were always welcome in her home.
She truly loved cooking, baking, and preparing family recipes that are sure to be passed on for generations to come.
Perhaps her favorite pastime was reading fiction novels which she did for hours every night. She was thoroughly engaged with her beloved sports teams, the Denver Broncos and Colorado Buffaloes, rarely (if ever) missing a game on TV. A lifelong love of dance carried all the way to her final days when she would go and dance twice a week with her oldest son Craig.
While she did not travel a lot, she had the opportunity to travel to Rome, Italy and The Vatican which was a highlight of her life. She was also enchanted by the Southwestern United States and its Native American heritage. She loved traveling to various destinations in New Mexico over the years, and genuinely cherished the few pieces of Native American art and jewelry she collected along the way.
Throughout her life, but in particular during her later years, her Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her being.
She is preceded in death by her only daughter Tara, her (infant) brother John, and her parents.
She is survived by her four sons Craig (Holly) Tomazin, Grant (Christa) Tomazin, Ryan (Swede) Tomazin, and Eric Tomazin; her four brothers Mark (Polly) Beatty, Paul (Peggy) Beatty, Brian (Sandy) Beatty, and Bruce (Sue) Beatty; her granddaughter Makayla and grandson Anthony; her step-grandchildren Robyn and David; her (ex) husband Thomas, and large extended families that she loved dearly on both the Beatty and Barth sides.
