Sue Twait, age 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, WI.

Sue was born June 18, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI the only child of Raymond and Lena King. She was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School.  She married Howard Twait on November 17,1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.  Sue was employed at Town & Country Pharmacy for 10 years, Schmidt’s Jewelry on the balcony of Johnson Hills for 10 years, and at Renaissance Learning for 13 years.

Sue’s great enjoyment was spending time with her family, following her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, following the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, and dining out with family and special friends.  For over 30 years, she was a regular at McDonald’s for coffee and the morning newspapers. 

Sue is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard; son, Todd Twait and family; daughter Tracy (Jeff) Hauke; grandchildren, Tanner Hauke and Taylor Hauke, all of Wisconsin Rapids.

Sue is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Patricia Richers (Copperas Cove, TX), Edythe Gukenberger (Plover, WI), Freda Pryga (Silver Lake, WI) and many nieces and nephews. 

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Rose Bury; father-in-law, Fred Twait; two brothers-in-law, Merle Gukenberger, George Richers; and nephew, Jason Gukenberger.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Patient Fund of Aspirus Riverview Cancer Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church (Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin).

Sue and her family extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ronnie Kirschling and all the staff at Riverview Cancer Center for their care and support during the last three and a half years.
