Susan D. (Safranski) Vela, 61 of Lockport, formerly of La Salle, loving and devoted wife of Robert M. Vela, died in St. James Hospice Wing in Chicago Heights on June 25, 2015.
Mrs. Vela was born in Peru on September 19, 1953 to Raymond S. and Dora E. (Hartig) Safranski Sr. Sue attended LP High School. She married Robert M. Vela, and they would have been married forty-three years at the end of June.
She is survived by her husband Robert of Lockport; son Louis S. (Dawn) Vela of Joliet; three grandchildren; sister Beverly J. Delgado of Spring Valley; one stepbrother Steve Safranski of Sheridan; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Hilda Safranski, and a brother Rayme Safranski.
