Susan McEntee Conover, 74, passed away on April 16, 2022 in Melbourne, Florida. Susan was born November 7, 1947 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Joseph McEntee and Susan Finch McEntee. Susan married Dennis Conover on March 17, 1989 and had a happy marriage until his sudden death in October 1993.

Susan graduated in 1966 from Ridgefield Park High School and from Hiram College in 1970 where she majored in Theatre and English,

Susan had a very successful career in the Paper and Printing Industry with time spent in Boston, New Jersey, Chicago, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, New York City and Woodstock, Connecticut ultimately retiring in Melbourne Florida.  She worked for several large printing companies throughout her career.  She started her career as a Purchasing Manager who would buy anything from pens to rolls of printing paper for the printing press.  In her final position as Vice President she negotiated multi-million dollar contracts to purchase paper to print magazines, catalogs corporate prospectus and flyers for various national companies.

Susan was very involved with theatre and the theatre community, especially with props, stage managing and directing.  In Boston as a young professional with a big heart she opened her home to many actors who needed a place to stay.  This generosity and welcoming was a characteristic of Susan’s that remained throughout her life.  She was a passionate reader and volunteer in the library.  Susan also volunteered to teach English as a second language to refugee women.  She enjoyed her community library so much in West Woodstock, Connecticut, she became Library Board President.  According to a library board member, “She made the library go.”

Susan had a magic about her that would draw people to her and make them feel comfortable. Susan was fun loving, enjoyed having people around and loved to cook for friends. She would welcome recent acquaintances into her home for dinner and conversation.  She was extraordinarily generous and caring, moving back to her hometown of Ridgefield Park to care for her mother.  If you knew Susan, you were often treated to the sparkle in her eye, her beautiful smile and her infectious laugh.

Susan is survived by her brother Joseph McEntee (Carol); sister in law, Donna Rose McEntee; Nephews Patrick Minehan and Justin McEntee (Jessica); Nieces Joanne Minehan, Kelli Minehan Pereira (Jacques), Laura McEntee Bierwagen (Erik), and step niece Daina Scheideler as well as many great nieces and nephews.
