Susan Carr Berilla passed away October 25, 2013. She was born in Columbus, Indiana on October 3, 1956, the only daughter of Louis E. Carr and Dorothy M. (Yunghans) Carr, of rural Bartholomew County.
Susan was a member of the Columbus East High School inaugural graduating class of 1974. She was graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in Spanish in 1978, and earned an M.A. in Communication Studies from California State University at San Bernardino (with highest honors) in 2004. Prior to her early retirement in 2008, Susan was employed by Cal Poly Pomona as Director of Organizational Development and Training.
Having rescue-adopted four successive Dalmatians from 1996 to 2010, Susan was widely known for her soft-spot for dogs.
Susan is survived by her brother John Carr, sister-in-law Candy Carr, nephews Luke and Andy Carr of Columbus, Indiana, and her brother Stephen Carr, sister-in-law Lisa Carr, nieces Rachel, Caroline, and Anna Carr, and nephew Jonathan Carr of Indianapolis.
