Susan Brynsaas, age 62, of Algona and formerly of Decorah, Iowa, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home. Susan Frances Rouster, the daughter of Blaine and Helen (Rouster) Gaare, was born on November 8, 1951 in Caledonia, Minnesota. She graduated from Mabel Canton High School in 1969. On April 12, 1969 Susan was united in marriage with Wesley Brynsaas in Mabel, Minnesota. She had worked at Snap-On Tools for 30 years. After she was diagnosed with cancer Sue retired in 2009. She was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers local 1045. Sue enjoyed collecting teddy bears, roosters, angels and Gone With The Wind memorabilia.
She also enjoyed reading, playing darts, spending time with friends, walking and being outdoors, decorating for the Holidays and making birthday cakes for Jesus on Christmas. Sue loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events. Left to cherish Sue’s memory is her husband of 45 years, Wesley; children and grandchildren, Tlisa Brynsaas-Girlamo her fiancé, Chuck Fox and her children, Christopher and Benjamin Girlamo of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Carrie Barglof and her husband Brett and their children, Bennett Barglof and his fiancé Victoria Morse of Aurelia and Brenten Barglof of Cherokee and Amy Brynsaas-Haley, her special friend Mike Sulby and her children, Jasmine and Javon Haley of Clear Lake; her parents, Blaine and Helen Gaare of Mabel, MN; two brothers, Michael Rouster of Winona, MN and Dennis Gaare and his wife Myong of Huntsville, AL; and four sisters, Angela Gaare, Cynthia Gaare and Jackie Gaare and her husband Eric Starke all of Minneapolis, MN and Deanna Gaare of Preston, MN.
