On December 13, 2017, Susan (Assid) Griggs, of Midland passed away in her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 23, 1952 in Lansing to Gloria (Hinkley) and the late Joseph Assid.
Sue married her high school crush, Daryl Griggs on September 9, 1972. Building upon this strong foundation of love, she is survived by her children and grandchildren. Daughter, Maggie (Keith) Vidergar and their children Jacob, Olivia, Sophia and Samuel; daughter Jennifer (Benjamin) Gracey and their children Reese Hancock, Braxton, Makenzi and Bella; son, Cory (Molly) Griggs and their children Jack, Beau and arriving in March, Baby Number 3.
In addition to her husband, children, and mother Gloria, she is survived by her brothers, Steve and Doug Assid; sisters, Joan Assid and Linda Gardner along with a very large and loved extended family including the Griggs family in-laws as well as many nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Spending every spare moment lovingly watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and dance events. Sue enjoyed her tomato garden and feeding the birds, squirrels, and neighborhood reindeer in her yard. Her love of the beach and waves carried her to Lake Michigan with her family and tropical destinations with Daryl as often as possible.
