Sula O. Caudill McCarty, age 87, of Pond Lick Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, May 15, 2018, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.
She was born June 23, 1930, in Letcher County, the last of 15 children of Moses and Betty Shepherd Caudill. Her husband, Jack Carrington McCarty, passed away March 17, 2006.
As a child, the family moved to Bath County and later Sula moved to Rowan County to begin working. She worked at Cowden’s Sewing Factory and several retail stores including Western Auto, The Carrousel, Factory Fashion, and Pelfrey’s.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Porter and husband Ronnie; two grandchildren, Robin Adams (Brian Stephens) and Lisa Porter (Jeff Sallaz), all of Morehead; seven great grandchildren, Joe Adams, Cole Adams, Jesse Adams, Jacey Mann, Kade Knipp, Jack Knipp, and Sophie Knipp; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
