Sueelyn (Goodale) Elkins, 72, of East Haddam, beloved wife of James E. Elkins for thirty-seven years, passed away on February 4, 2017 at Apple Rehab in Colchester. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Julia (Wickham) Goodale. Sue spent her early years in Florida and after moving to Connecticut graduated Woodrow Wilson High School. She spent eighteen years at Connecticut Valley Hospital doing daily patient care, before retiring. She owned and operated the “House of Calico” in East Haddam, which was an antique, and fabric store where she catered to the needs of the general public. This gave her the opportunity to establish many new friends. Sue enjoyed designing and making quilts for family, friends, and her store.
