Stuart Newcome Edwards, age 76, died Monday at Vidant Healthcare in Greenville, NC. He was born in Sampson County to the late Harvey W., Sr. and Ruby Aldridge Edwards. A veteran with the United States Army, Stuart obtained his B.A. from Atlantic Christian College and furthered his education by obtaining is Masters from A.S.U. A retired school teacher, he taught in the Salisbury, Sunsbury, Eden and Goldsboro School Systems. A Presbyterian, he was a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #112 and was the former owner of Edwards Framing and Art Studio.
