Stewart William Cathell, Sr., age 70, of Oakwood Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, formerly of Grafton was a loving father and friend to many. He passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, after many years of fighting a terminal lung illness. He was born September 24, 1942 in Tappan Booths, WV, a son of the late Stewart Andrew Cathell and Opal (Stewart) Cathell. His wife, Geraldine F. (Wilhelm) Cathell, preceded him in death June 19, 1996.
Mr. Cathell was a retired truck driver having been employed at Jones Motor Freight. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 24. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. Stewart was a people person and enjoyed talking to everyone; he enjoyed vacationing at the beach.
Surviving are: one daughter Katrina Fasone and husband Russell; one son Stewart W. Cathell, Jr, of Grafton; five grandchildren, James George, and Matthew George, both of Grafton, and Misty Cathell, Boomer Cathell, and Joey Fasone, all of Ohio; three great grandchildren, Hayden Fasone, Emmalynn Fasone, and Stormy Cathell; three sisters Gayenell Peters and husband Carroll Wayne, of Grafton, Sharon Cathell Wright and husband Gary, of Fairmont, Janice Cathell and husband Will, of Fairmont; two brothers, Harry Cathell and wife Dina, and Garry Cathell and wife Beverly, all of Grafton.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy George.
At his request Mr. Cathell will be cremated.
