STEWART THOMAS MOODY, JR. was born to Carrie Jean Stokes and Stewart Thomas Moody on November 17, 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona. Stewart accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. During the early 1960s, the family moved to San Diego, California, where he received his education through the San Diego Unified School District, graduating from Patrick Henry High School.

During the late 1970s, Stewart began working for Coca Cola as a Truck Driver.

On July 28, 1984, Stewart married the lovely Vanessa M. Henry. Their union was blessed with five children.

Stewart lived his life to the fullest. He was a devoted father, son and brother. He enjoyed hunting and fishing including, crawfishing and working on automobiles. He was the best at working on cars. He was known in the community as “The Neighborhood Mechanic”!

Stewart had a big heart that everyone had a piece of. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in their time of need, no matter if he had it to give or not. Stewart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his son-in-law, Chris Harrison.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, Stewart Thomas Moody, Jr. passed away peacefully, with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Moody; his children, Stewart Thomas Moody III, Lisa Allen-Cruz ( Antonio), Tonya Moody, Jennifer Harrison and Antwonette Smith all of San Diego, CA; siblings, Reba Locke (Marvin) of San Diego, CA, Roger Stokes (Jaquita) of Texarkana, TX, Robert Stokes (Ann) of San Diego, CA; Jackie Reed of San Diego, CA and Katrina Irin of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Taneah Moody, Darrell Lard, Octavious Turner, Xzaviera Turner, Keantae Moody, Chandler Moody, Christian Moody, Mykel Bridges, Antonio Bridges, Nevaeh Harrison and Tatianna Weems; goddaughter, Ronisha Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
