Steven Mark Proefrock, 51, of Port Hueneme, died Monday, September 12, 2011, at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital following a brief illness.
Steven was born September 18, 1959 in Misawa, Japan and had been a 40 year Ventura County resident coming from Yakota Air Force Base, Japan. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Following the Army, he was a jack of all trades / handyman for 30 years.
His hobbies included baseball, traveling, taking walks with his dog (Aki), singing, dancing. He was a kid at heart and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a loyal and kind friend and a loving and caring brother and uncle. He enjoyed cooking even though at times it was crispy and he loved to eat.
Steven is survived by his father, Marvin Proefrock; mother, Shigeko Proefrock; brother, Charles; sister, Denise Avalos; niece, Tiari Pinkard; nephews, Dominic Pinkard, Kevin, Ryan and Izayah Price; uncles, Bob and Saburo; aunts, Yoshiko and Charlotte; and alot of cousins and extended family.
