Steven Lee Boles Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, of King, NC, age 72, passed away peacefully to be with his savior Jesus Christ Sunday morning November 11, 2018. He passed peacefully after battling health issues for over a year beginning with a heart attack last fall and ending with his intense battle against lung cancer over the past nine months.

 He was born November 23, 1945, in Winston-Salem, the youngest of six children to his late parents Ernest William Boles and Ethel Tilley Boles. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Pamela Kiser Boles; son and daughter-in-law Steven Lee Boles Jr. and Tina Richardson Boles of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren Brittany Boles of Grapevine, Texas, Taylor Elizabeth Boles Kush and husband Andrew of Lebanon, NH, Dalton Boles of Charlotte, NC, and Seth Boles of Kennessa, GA; great-grandchildren Nina, Gideon, and Ava Kush of Lebanon, NH; sister and brother-in-law Dilma Rae Adams and husband Adrian of Rural Hall, NC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his youngest son, Ty Eric Boles of King, NC; brothers Harold Boles and Rev. Jim Boles; sisters Francis Tedder and Barbara Ann Heath; father and mother-in-law James Sherrill Kiser and Adeline Hall Kiser.

 Steve grew up as a member of Pinnacle United Methodist and is currently a member of Poplar Springs Church of Christ.  He was well know in Stokes and Surry counties from his 48 years of serving his customers at Boles Hardware where each customer he considered very special and respected each and everyone. He also served the community as a member of the Lions Club, Parks and Recreation Planning Board for the City of King, and as a volunteer for the King Outreach Ministry. He was well known for his love of God, Country, family, golf with his friends at PKP, John Wayne movies, history, horse back riding, Duke basketball, coffee at McDonald’s, and bike trail riding with Pam. Each of these life long passions he leaves behind as a legacy to various members of his family.
