Steven L. Updegraff, 64, of 1619 Grimesville Road, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at The Gatehouse Hospice following a brief illness.

Steve worked with his father at the former Double U Steak House, purchasing the business in 1982 and selling it in 1988. He then was employed several years by STEP as a van driver.

Steve was a 1965 graduate of Williamsport High School, an Army veteran serving in the Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972, a member of Highland Lake 40/8, Hughesville and loved fishing, boating and the outdoor’s.

Born April 26, 1947 in Williamsport, he was the son of Clarence H. “Mike” and Amy F. Hall Updegraff.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Amy Updegraff-Myers, of the Hillside Assisted Living Community, Montoursville, are a son, Steven P. (Jessica) of North Brunswick, NJ; a daughter, Valarie L. Reilly of Tunkhannock; a sister, Christine E. (John) Charnock of Montoursville; grandchildren, Sydney Reilly, Cassandra, and twins Nathaniel and Hannah Updegraff; and his longtime companion, Carol L. Grimes.
