Steven John Lepeltak passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2022 due to complications from alcoholism.
Steven was born March 11, 1986 in Des Moines, IA to John C. Lepeltak and Tracy Heskett Lepeltak.
Steven graduated from Waukee High School and the Tippee College of Business at the University of Iowa.
Steven worked for IBM, Wells Fargo, and several car dealerships. Most recently he owned and operated his own lawn care business.
Steven was an excellent golfer and a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan since he was a little boy. He was passionate about dogs and had canine companions his whole life. His chocolate Labrador Maggie was the love of his life.
Steven fought a ten-year battle with alcoholism. Many times he tried so hard to get healthy. He had the help and support of so many friends who truly loved him. But in the end, the disease was too strong.
Steven was proceeded in death by his father John, grandparents Larry and Dixie Heskett, Walt and Betty Lepeltak, and his aunt Holly Heskett.
Steven is survived by his loving mother Tracy, stepfather Drew Dahms, sister Leslie of California, and his faithful canine companion Maggie.
On a special note, Steven received exceptional support, guidance, and compassion from Julie Lefler and LJ Lipscomb of the PATH program at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.
