Steven I. Dacko, 77, of Peru, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Mr. Dacko was born April 10, 1944 in Remezivtsi, Ukraine to Stephan and Natalia Dacko. He married Stephanie Kuchar on September 29, 1973 in Chicago at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. He served in the U. S. Army.
Steven worked as an engineer from 1972 until retirement in 2016. During that time he worked at H.D. Conkey & CO, Motor Wheel in Mendota and Aqua Control in Spring Valley.
He was an avid photographer, technology guru, guitar and piano player, fisherman, BBQ master, beer aficionado and loved to spend time with his family.
He enjoyed time in the hot tub, talking about food and could fix just about everything. As a father, he was a teacher of many skills and raised three fiercely loyal, independent daughters with whom he was extremely close.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie of Peru; three daughters, Liz Dacko of Chicago, Lainie Dacko of Chicago and Nina Dacko of Ft. Worth, TX; a brother, Bob (Ann) Dacko of Duncan Ville, TX and a sister, Lorna (Wally) Shaban of Itasca. He was preceded in death by his parents.
