He was also a resident and member at both Chestatee Golf Club in Dawsonville, GA and most recently at Delray Dunes Golf Club in Boynton Beach, FL. He was an avid golfer, winning several local and regional tournaments over the years. He could often be found watching golf, baseball, and football on TV alongside his wife and friends.

Up to his final days, he was making his typical round of calls to the most important people in his life. He regularly spoke with and got together with friends from elementary school and high school, as well as the friends that he made on the golf course. Although not nearly an exhaustive list, Steve’s best friends included Dennis Maradie, Jon Alley, Mark Mainella, Hank Coleman, and Paul Quigley.
