Williamsport, MD – Steven Craig Delauter, II, 47, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at his home.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, and Uncle.  Steven was a kind person who would help anyone in need.

 

He was born on January 21, 1975 in Hagerstown, MD to Steven C. “Bates” Delauter, Sr. of Greencastle, PA and Deborah L. “Debbie” Groff of Williamsport, MD.

 

Steven was a graduate of Grace Academy in Hagerstown, MD.  He played baseball and soccer in high school.  Steven had professional tryouts with MLB teams Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles.

 

He was employed by Carter Lumber in Hagerstown, MD.  He was a professional truck driver for over 25 years.

 

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple of Hagerstown, MD.

 

He was also a member of Teamsters Local #992 of Hagerstown, MD.

 

Steven enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing with his daughter “Bubba” for many years, and especially playing with his 3 year old grandson.

 

He is survived by his father Steven C. “Bates” Delauter, Sr. (Teresa “Taz”) of Greencastle, PA; mother Deborah L. “Debbie” Groff of Williamsport, MD; daughter Savannah R. Delauter (William “B.J.” Savage) and her son Luca Steven Savage; brother Brad A. Delauter of Berkeley Springs, WV and his children Tre, Micah, Kaya, and Torin; maternal grandparents George and Jean (Silvers) Groff of Williamsport, MD; Aunt Rhonda J. Corbett (Michael); Aunt Thelma Monninger; Aunt Peggy Speaker; Uncle Jack Delauter; Uncle John Delauter; Uncle Doug Delauter.

 

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents William and Thelma “Sis” Delauter; step grandfather Phil Teach; Uncle John L. Groff.
