Steven Chapman, 68, of Jackson NJ, passed away January 16, 2018. Born in Queens, NY, he lived in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Jackson 16 years ago.
Steven was a United States Air Force Vietnam War Veteran and a Police Officer for the Union City Police Department for 27 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Central Jersey Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, as well as PBA Local #8.
Steven was a devoted, loving, and caring husband and father. He loved spending time with his friends and family and was always the life of the party.
Steven’s passions included riding his motorcycle with his Buffalo Soldier family, listening to jazz music, history, trying new foods, and traveling. He was loved and admired by all that knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ruby Mae Chapman, and his brother Gary Chapman.
Steven is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joanne Chapman (Green), his two children Tarik Chapman (Jane) and Stephanie Chapman, and grandson, Braxton. He isdd also survived by two brothers Thomas Chapman (Cecile) and Frederick Chapman (Julia), as well as a sister Barbara Parker (Randy), in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
