Steven Curtis Pettigrew passed away on March 8, 2012 in Indianapolis. He was born in Anderson on June 5, 1951. He served one tour of duty in Vietnam and two tours of duty in Germany for the U.S. Army. Mr. Pettigrew married Helen England in Crawfordsville on March 16, 1985. He retired from Rexnord Industries (formerly Link-Belt) after over 20 years.
He was a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion Post #72 and a life member of the Crawfordsville VFW #1431. He is survived by his wife Helen Pettigrew of Crawfordsville; mother Yvonne Covington; father Boyd Pettigrew; daughter Sherri (David) Auker of Anderson; son Douglas W. Pettigrew of Anderson; step-children: Timmy Leigh of Logansport; Cheryl (Mike) Titus of Logansport; Donnie (Christine) Leigh of Crawfordsville; and Sheila Leigh of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Teresa (Jim Mollenkopf) Pettigrew of Fortville; and brothers: Jeffrey (Vicky) Pettigrew of Anderson; Kevin (Joan) Pettigrew of Indpls.; Michael (Terrie) Pettigrew of Indpls.; and Douglas Pettigrew of Indpls. He was preceded in death by his sister Cindy Pettigrew.
