Born in Tennessee, Steven came to this area as a toddler. He lived in Edgewater from 1988 to 1990 then moved to New Smyrna Beach. Steven graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in 2005. He was very close to his family and enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid bowler. Steven was honored by the Dreamers and Doers Award, an award given to students who demonstrate the outstanding characteristics that Walt Disney himself admired – curiosity, courage, confidence, and constancy. He was 1 of 3 out of 4000 students in Volusia County.
Steven is survived by his parents Linda and Wilson Austin, 4 brothers, Christopher of New Smyrna Beach, Brian and Rhonda Zona of Daytona Beach, Jeff and Sarah Zona of Strongsville, Ohio, Raymond Bryan of Tennessee, 1 sister, Christina and Adam Fuller of Arizona, nephew, Jerry and Nicholas Austin, nieces, Shelby and Keeley, cousin and big brother, Patrick Hole, cousins Alvin and Winston Scott, Linda and Greg, Jason, Eric and Renee, Susan and Eric Ward, Robert, Randy and Trisha, Robert Oldcorn, Susan, Kyle and Kaylie, uncles, Bob and Joy Oldcorn of Bedford, Ohio, Rick and Deb Oldcorn of Streetsboro, Ohio, Michael Oldcorn of Cleveland, Ohio, Harvey Austin of Samsula, aunts, Sylvia and Richard Heinan of Orlando, Grace Oldcorn of Cleveland, Susan and Robert Hole of Edgewater, and the love of his life, Kalan Agers of Oak Hill.
A memorial scholarship will be set up in Steven’s name.
