Steven Daryl “Steve” Rogers, 58, of Virginia, IL died November 17, 2018, at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
He was born August 16, 1960 in Jacksonville, the son of Dennis O. “Ozzie” and Velma Darlene “Darty” Walton Rogers.
He is survived by his brother, Duane Rogers of Jacksonville; two daughters, Amanda Williams of Springfield and Brie Rogers of Virginia; a son, Brandon Rogers of Virginia; and four grandchildren, Xavier Rogers of Chatham, Darrius Williams of Virginia, and Larissa Smith and Montasia Baptist, both of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A 1978 graduate of Virginia High School, Steve worked over 20 years at Cargill in Beardstown. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Matt Kenseth. He formerly was a member of the Virginia Dart League.
