Steve Kurensky, age 70 of Norwalk, died on Monday, November 28, 2011 at home. Born in Norwalk, he was the son of Arthur and Julia (Boczer) Kurensky, and the husband of 50 years to Ingrid (Lindwall) Kurensky.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Mitchell (Dennis), Karen Kurensky, Kristen Kurensky and Kate Kurensky (fiance Steve Pickering). He was the proud grandfather to four grandsons, Ryan Mitchell, Shane Mitchell, Max Wittek and Jake Guedes. Steve was the oldest of five siblings, Judy Wessel, Arthur Kurensky, Arlene Kuban and Gary Kurensky.
Steve was a graduate of Norwalk High School class of 1959, although he equally considered himself a member or the class of 1958. Steve lead a 35 year career as an Insurance Agent with both MetLife and Allstate Insurance Company.
A lifelong member of the Norwalk community, Steve was an avid sports enthusiast as a player, coach and fan. As a member of the Norwalk Athletic Association, he coached the ‘Golddiggers’, a Norwalk girls’ softball team, for many years. Steve was a natural outdoorsman, with a passion for golf and mastery of fishing.
