Stephen W. Long, 66, peacefully passed away on Friday September 16, 2016 in Springhill Village Nursing Home after a long struggle with cancer. He was born
April 18, 1950 to Fred W and Gertrude Pauline Long. He grew up in Blackhawk, Indiana and graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1968. He served in the
United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1977. He was self-employed and worked in the home improvement industry until his retirement.
Stephen loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, gardener and fisherman. He enjoyed watching most sports and was always the winner when it came to sports trivia.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Paulette Laycock. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by Shannon Harrison, his son Brett Long and his wife Siri and his granddaughters Claire and Molly Long. Brandie and Chris Snapp and their daughters Kelsie and Macie. Bryanna and Tony Wegner and their daughter Alexandra and their sons and Stephens best fishing buddies Blake and Conner. His Brother in law Dave Laycock and nephews Griff (Kim) Laycock and Ben (Andrea) Laycock and his great nieces.
