Stephen W. Gordon, 77, of South Bend, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
Born in Fort Wayne, on April 22, 1943, to the late Junior and Donna (Smith) Gordon. He spent his formative years in Churubusco, graduating from Churubusco High School in 1961. In 1969, he graduated with a BS degree in Accounting from Ball State University and earned his Indiana Certified Accounting License.
Stephen was married to Marilyn Runyon in 1964.
During his career he worked with a national accounting firm in Indianapolis, an accounting firm in Elkhart and a manufacturing company in South Bend. He was currently working during tax season for Richard Parker, CPA, in Walkerton.
Stephen enjoyed gardening, working on the Runyon Farm in Green Township and tax season. When he was younger, he enjoyed traveling in the USA, Canada and spending time fishing on vacations in Wisconsin.
He attended Nappanee Missionary Church and was a member of the Indiana Certified Public Accounting Association.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Gordon; his sister, Brenda (Karl) Palmer; a brother-in-law, Dewight (Wanda) Runyon; two nephews, Jeremy (Jamie) Palmer and Dr. Bradley (Vickie) Runyon; a niece, Amy (Joe) Leeuw; nine great-nieces and nephews, Kaylee and Andrew Leeuw, Ethan, Evan and Emma Palmer, Margaret, Sarah, Brent and Chloe Runyon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Brent Runyon.
