Stephen Radcliffe James, known by all as “Rad”, was born on June 28, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona, he is the second son of Barbara Radcliffe and Stephen Clayton James. Rad passed away peacefully on September 14, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father, Steve and his older brother, Maury James. Close surviving relatives are his mother, Barbara, sister, Leslie (Brad Lay) and four nephews: Stephen Richard, Stuart (Victoria) and Ryan (Adriana), all of whom provided support and love to help him deal with his illness.
Rad was an excellent student and gifted athlete, excelling in a variety of sports, but especially golf in high school and college at Northern Arizona University, although, he was unable to live up to his potential as he suffered all of his adult life with a severe mental illness. He faced demons courageously every day without complaint, even humorously at times. He had a close relationship with God, which sustained him in his darkest hours.
Rad, your difficult journey is over and you are finally at peace. You are an inspiration to so many who suffer, as you have, and you will be greatly missed.
